Do you ever have one of those days where everything seems to be going wrong? You know, the kind of day where you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and nothing seems to go right from there. Well, I had one of those days recently and it was quite frazzling!
First off, my alarm didn’t go off so I woke up super late. Then, when I was rushing to get ready, I spilled coffee all over my shirt. Awesome.
To top it all off, when I got to work, I realized I had left my laptop at home. Ugh, what a pain.
Thankfully, the rest of the day went relatively smoothly (minus a few other small hiccups).
But it definitely wasn’t my best day by any means. If you’ve ever had a day like that, then you know how frizzle frazzle it can be!

Why is It Called Frizzle Frazzle

One popular theory is that the name was derived from the sound that hot fizzy drinks make when they’re being poured into a glass. Another possibility is that it’s simply a play on words, with the word “frizz” being used to describe the drink’s carbonated bubbles, and “frazzle” being used to describe its frothy texture.
Whatever the true origin of its name may be, one thing’s for sure – this delicious drink is sure to leave you feeling frazzled and fizzy!

Assuming you would like a recipe for Frizzle Frazzle:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg, beaten
1 cup buttermilk or sour milk*
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled slightly**
Instructions:***
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add egg and buttermilk or sour milk; mix well.
Add melted butter; stir just until moistened. Pour batter into prepared dish. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve warm with butter and honey, if desired.
*To sour milk: place 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar in a measuring cup; add enough milk to equal 1 cup total liquid and let stand 5 minutes before using in recipe. **Or use 3 tablespoons shortening plus 1 tablespoon margarine OR all margarine instead of the butter called for in this recipe. ***For best results when making quick breads or muffins, do not overmix the batter!
