What Inspired You to Become a Chef

I’ve always loved food. As a kid, I was fascinated by the way my mom could turn a few ingredients into a delicious meal. I was also intrigued by the science of cooking—the way heat transforms food and the chemistry behind it all.

Then I turn it out onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Once the dough is ready, I use a rolling pin to flatten it into thin sheets. I then run them through my pasta machine (a handy kitchen gadget that cuts the dough into noodles).

Once they’re all cut, I boil them in salted water for just a few minutes until they’re cooked through but still al dente. Drain them and add them to your sauce – dinner is served! Making homemade pasta is definitely a labor of love, but it’s so worth it when you sit down to enjoy a bowl of steaming hot noodles smothered in flavorful tomato sauce.
